and residual meat can be of good quality, and thus their nutritional value may depend on the proportion of nonchitinous residues in those meals. They are relatively high in Ca and low in P content. Shrimp meal is a good protein source for nonruminant species. Crab meal does not show much promise even for ruminants, but it can be a low-cost alternative to replace some protein supplements. Dried and ground oyster shell is an excellent source of Ca.
