We found one publication with a series of provocation tests in patients with TEN (10 cases) or SJS (8 cases). The dose was progressively increased to a commonly used daily dose and then continued at this level for 2-9 days. Only one test was positive in the TEN patients (maculopapular eruption) and four in the SJS patients (with two recurrences of SJS). Hypotheses to explain this low rate of recurrence are misdiagnosis, desensitising effect by use of progressive dose or real lack of systematic recurrence.45
