There are multiple studies that have shown QEEG biofeedback to be a successful treatment for attentional problems. These studies are based on the rationale that individuals with attentional problems generally have more slow waves in their EEG than individuals who do not have attentional problems. Therefore, the protocol requires the reduction of slow waves, either theta or alpha, while increasing faster waves, such as SMR or beta.
