Actinic keratoses solar keratoses

These are small, erythematous, scaly papules commonly found on the sun-exposed face. Biopsy shows hyperker-atoses and parakeratoses with dysplasia in the epidermis. About 5% progress to squamous cell carcinoma. Treatment is preferably by cryosurgery or excision.
