The velocity proximal to the valve (depicted by the bright lower velocities highlighted by the arrow) reached 87 cm/s. The ratio of the latter to the former is less than 0.25. This Doppler velocity index, also known as dimensionless index, is normally more than 0.25, but decreases with significant valve stenosis.
