HISTORY A detailed transplant history is important for all patients presenting with ARF. Since many of the clinical rejection syndromes are correlated with the age of the graft, the date of the transplant surgery should always be obtained. The donor source is also an important risk factor for aRf because cadaveric kidneys have higher incidences of ARF and rejection. A history of recent and repeated infections also gives important clues to the patient's level of immunosuppression. In patients with infections, it is common practice to decrease immunosuppressants, which increases the risk of rejection. A complete drug history is very important because many medications affect the levels and toxicity of CYA (I§b!§..,96.-6)20
