Sensorimotor Mapping

Many reaching movements are made directly toward a target object. The term standard mapping applies to these kinds of movement. People often look at an object, orient attention toward it, and reach directly to touch or grasp it. However, human behavior would be scarcely recognizable were it limited to standard mapping.
