Enhancement of the Rate of Enzyme Reactions by Microwave Irradiation

2. Reagents: 2-methyl-2-propanol, ethanol.

3. Substrate: Cbz-Ala-Phe-OMe, Pro-NH2.

4. Instrument: kitchen microwave oven (Tatum microwave oven TMO-110,Taiwan), total power of the microwave was 650 W with nine power settings, the lowest of which was 72 W. In this study, 20% full power was used for preliminary tests. A Synthewave Reactor (Prolabo 402, France) was used for preparative scale synthesis.

5. The HPLC apparatus consisted of a Hitachi 6200 intelligent-HPLC pump and a Hitachi 4200 UV detector. The data were collected on a Macintosh LCII using Rainin Chrompic software. Column: RP-18, 4.6 x 150 mm. Eluent: 68% CH3CN in 0.1% TFA. Flow rate: 1 mL/min. UV wavelength: 254 nm.
